Beat the Grief! Home Menu
For my thesis project, I built a beta version of a mobile application that will help children cope with their grief. My application is designed for youth between the ages of 8-18. The reason for this is that there are significantly fewer resources targeted for grieving youth than for grieving adults. The full version of my mobile application will consist of a plethora of links to helpful resources and basic facts about the grieving process. It will also include five minigames; one for each of the five stages of grief. For example, one of the minigames in the beta version I built is a virtual plate-smashing game centered around the anger one feels during grief. The mockup image shows three parts of the beta version: the homepage, game over screen, and an about the app section.
Gaming Disorder: Myth or Reality?
This is a webpage that I created on Wix. It is responsive and it has two video backgrounds. The webpage is about gaming disorder, which is a mental health condition where people are extremely addicted to gaming. The webpage features my own photography/artwork and it contains interactive data visualizations created using Tableau. Please click on the PNG image to go to the WIX website to check it out.
An Introduction to UX/UI
This presentation will be an introduction to user experience and user interface design. These two areas of design work closely together and are critical to the success of IT products. This presentation will gover the basic concepts of these two areas of design and good practices for front-web developers to use.
Seraph Doctrine Footage
The Seraph Doctrine explores the relationship between the “real world” and the in-game digital environment. The player can build friendly relationships with the npc residents, and aid them with various tasks. Or they can do whatever they please, and ignore the rules entirely. Either way, the game opens up a discussion as to where the line should be drawn between digital worlds and our own. The game explores contemporary elements of video game design, such as self-awareness and fourth-wall breaks. The interactivity of the game evokes a sense of exploration and mystery that drives the player to explore the boundaries of their actions. If you want to learn more about the game, click here. The footage is sped up twice as fast as it was originally recorded.
